Hello, I’m Mike
Through years of coaching, I identified two key areas that most young players need support with:
Physical preparation – moving well, developing strength, speed and athleticism.
Core rugby skills – particularly handling, which is often overlooked in today’s screen-heavy generation.
That vision inspired me to create a dedicated indoor rugby and athletic development centre. With artificial turf, padded walls for safety, and a state-of-the-art gym space, it’s an environment designed to help kids learn, grow, and thrive in rugby while building lifelong athletic skills.
My goal is simple: to give every player – from preschool through to aspiring academy athletes – the tools, confidence, and mindset to become the best version of themselves on and off the pitch.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend my life in rugby – first as a professional player, and now as a coach helping the next generation fulfil their potential.
I played professional rugby for Bath Rugby for almost a decade, making 28 appearances for the club, and represented my country with Scotland Sevens on the HSBC World Series. Those experiences gave me an incredible foundation, but my real passion has always been developing young players.
After hanging up my boots, I moved into coaching with Bath Academy and gained my RFU Level 3 coaching qualification. Alongside that, I coached at Kingswood School in Bath, before taking my first Head of Rugby role at Downside School. From there, I spent five fantastic years at Millfield School, working with players who have gone on to the highest level – including Huw Jones (British & Irish Lions, Scotland), Gabriel Oghre (England), Josh Bayliss (Scotland), Ciaran Donoghue and Ewan Richards, who were part of Bath Triple trophy success.
Most recently, I became Head of Rugby and Head of Sport at Prior Park College before deciding to take the leap and build something new and unique for young players in the Bath area.
